The roll coating process

Double-Sided Roll Coating with Grooved Rollers: In this process, the liquid resist is evenly applied to both sides of the substrate using grooved rollers. This method allows for high coating speeds of up to 6 m/min and precise layer thicknesses with a tolerance of ±1µm. Changing the rollers to adjust the layer thickness takes approximately 45 minutes. Compared to dry film, this process offers greater flexibility in terms of substrate format, but holes and galvanic structures cannot be coated.
Infeed and Chain Transport: The system precisely feeds the panels into the coating rollers and then transfers them to a chain with grippers. This method is particularly suitable for rigid and stable panels. Thin or flexible materials can pose a challenge as they may wrap around the rollers. Precise panel feeding is crucial to avoid damage.
