Bäckerhaus Veit Invests in Modernization and Workplace Safety:
Dough Dividers Equipped with Additional Safety Features
Bäckerhaus Veit, a traditional regional bakery from Bempflingen with a passion for craftsmanship, has further invested in modernizing its production facilities and enhancing workplace safety. As part of these efforts, all dough dividers in its bread and roll production lines from manufacturers Lippelt, GBT, and König have been upgraded with additional safety features on the dough hoppers. This initiative reflects the strong commitment of the bakery’s management to ensuring the well-being of its employees.
The task was entrusted to ahk Service & Solutions GmbH, a specialist in maintenance and customized modifications for bakery machines. Based on Bäckerhaus Veit’s specific requirements, ahk Service & Solutions GmbH developed technical safety solutions and successfully integrated them into the existing production lines—both mechanically and electrically.
Implementation of Safety Measures Using Safety Edges
The technical upgrade involved installing a sensor-based safety edge around the rim of each dough hopper. This touch-sensitive system immediately triggers an emergency stop if pressure is applied. Additionally, a reset button was installed on the dough dividers, allowing quick and easy resumption of production once the work area is confirmed safe. The system also reduces false alarms when loading dough into the machine.
Mr. Reif, Head of Technical Operations at Bäckerhaus Veit, praised the implementation:
“I am extremely satisfied with the rapid and flawless execution of these safety measures. It is remarkable how ahk has supported us for years—independently of manufacturers—whenever we face production challenges.”
This investment underscores Bäckerhaus Veit’s commitment to employee safety and continuous process improvement. The additional safety features on the dough dividers not only optimize the work environment but also enhance working conditions for the entire production team.
